According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean government will conduct an anti-dumping investigation into styrene monomer (SM) originating in China.

According to sources, the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea announced the above-mentioned investigation decision on the 9th.

Styrene monomer is a key petrochemical raw material used to make synthetic resin and synthetic rubber. Two Korean companies filed a complaint with the Trade Commission on the 22nd of last month, claiming that they had suffered losses due to the low price of styrene monomer imported from China. The news pointed out that the Korea Trade Commission has sent inquiry letters to four companies subject to the investigation and required these companies to submit applications for participation in the investigation within the next three weeks. Anti-dumping investigations usually take 10-12 months.
